Lawler admitted: “Sometimes it’s hard for me to watch. “I just had my schedule in Survivor Series, and so it’s almost like cramming for a test when you were in school. I really have to go back and watch some shows, take some notes, and find out what’s really going on.”
Jerry Lawler goes on to explain his thoughts on the product in more detail. He admitted that the product was too short, saying it would be rough become a commentator now.
“I don’t understand how people in business are – it’s hard to do that on a daily basis,” he said. “Make a comment for Original and SmackDown now, for me, it’s almost brutal to know and remember. Talent changes so quickly and everything is so short now.
“It’s not wrestling’s fault, people love to talk about how wrestling has changed. Wrestling has not changed. It’s the fans, it’s the changed society. Now we’ve got a short attention span,” Lawler believes. “In the wrestling business, you have to realize that there are so many other things that fans can watch. So you have to keep this show here interesting every minute so people are watching or they will switch and start watching TikTok. It’s changed in that respect, and sometimes for me, it’s hard to follow.”
The king spoke of the variety of moves today by many names. He discusses the incident which he calls a move,’Ramen Noodle Moonsault,’ which he believes ended his comment run.
“I really believe that might be one of the reasons I don’t comment on Original right now,” Lawler declared. “I don’t call a move three independent dishes, I call a move Ramen Noodle Moonsault. Suddenly, I was the biggest racist to ever say, ‘Ramen Noodle Moonsault,’ to a Japanese wrestler in the ring. “
