Jeff Beck dead: Legendary rock star who performed with Johnny Depp dies ‘suddenly’

Legendary rock star Jeff Beck – who famously performed with Johnny Depp – has died “suddenly”, it has been announced.
In a statement posted to the guitarist’s Twitter page, Beck’s family confirmed the shock news.
“On behalf of his family, it is with deep and deep sadness that we share the news of Jeff Beck’s death,” the statement said.

“He passed away peacefully yesterday after suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis.
“His family requests privacy as they process this tremendous loss.”
Beck was 78 when he died.
Beck first rose to fame with the Yardbirds before fronting the Jeff Beck Group and Beck, Bogert and Appice.
He was voted one of the top 5 in Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists.
He memorably appeared opposite Hollywood star Johnny Depp at the conclusion of the latter’s infamous court case with ex-wife Amber Heard.
Depp and Beck deepened their professional relationship by releasing an album together called 18on July 15th.
In a statement on his official website, Beck explained the origin of the new album title.
“When Johnny and I started playing together it really sparked our youthful spirit and creativity,” he wrote.
“We joked about how we felt when we were 18 again, so that became the title of the album.”
