Jay Wright was incredibly emotional when he talked about how his Villanova Wildcats made it back to Round 4 of the Finals.

No 2 Villanova won an ugly kick in the Elite Eight game against the Houston Cougars No 5, by a score of 50-44. The Wildcats basically played a six-man rotation to overtake Kelvin Sampson’s Cougars by six points in San Antonio on Saturday night. Samuels led all scorers with 16 points and 10 rebounds in his brace. This is a game where the more intrepid team has found a way to win.
When asked what it meant to go back to Final Four, Wright got a little emotional and essentially handed the mic to Samuels so he could finish the assignment.

This is the seventh time in the school’s history that the Wildcats have reached the Quarterfinals. This is the fourth time they have done this under Wright’s guidance. Even though they dropped out of the 2009 national semifinals, the Wildcats have won all-round in the last two they have so far, 2016 and 2018. Maybe four years ago, but so much has changed. in the world since then.
If the Wildcats win the next two games, Wright will win three national championships in less than a decade. He will no longer be the most underrated head coach in college basketball. In fact, one could make a strong argument that he is the best head coach in men’s basketball, especially with the iconic Mike Krzyzewski calling it a career after this tour. .
Under Wright’s watch, Villanova became a late college basketball player.
