Janibek Alimkhanuly blitzed Danny Dignum for Round 2 KO (Video)

Undefeated middleweight Janibek Alimkhanuly quickly took out Danny Dignum with a left hook for the 2nd round KO and is the interim WBO champion.
Janibek Alimkhanuly is struggling to cement a significant role boxes fight, and he showed why against England’s Danny Dignum.
Alimkhanuly and Dignum fought for the WBO interim middleweight title at Resorts World Las Vegas on May 21, but it didn’t last long. Alimkhanuly quickly took out Dignum.
Alimkhanuly (12-0, 8 KOs) dominated and knocked down Dignum in Round 1. The southpaw, originally from Kazakhstan, was just getting started.
It was target practice for Alimkhanuly in Round 2. His hand speed caused Dignum to cramp. Dignum couldn’t see Alimkhanuly’s left hand coming.
Alimkhanuly had Dignum in trouble against the ropes, and he unleashed a blazing left uppercut that dropped Dignum for good.

Dignum was stunned on the canvases and didn’t get a chance to get up and the fight was ruled a KO.
Alimkhanuly is a former Olympian and amateur world champion who is reaching his prime at 29 years old. He trains with former world champion Buddy McGirt and the partnership works well.
Alimkhanuly’s countryman, Gennady Golovkin, holds two divisional world titles but may fight Canelo Alvarez next. The WBO champion is Demetrius Andrade.
A purse bid for Andrade vs. Alimkhanuly fell through earlier this year, but Andrade is running out of options. Either he has to fight Alimkhanuly or give up his title at some point.
Alimkhanuly put on a brilliant performance at ESPN, showing he could be the future of middleweight.
