Avila beat Taylor in a match with MMA fighters

Chris Avila didn’t like the judge’s decision when he was fighting Anthony Taylor last year at Bellator MMA. This time, scores his way in boxing.

Avila defeated Taylor by a decisive majority (78-74, 77-75, 76-76), overtaking Taylor by more yield in the latter part of an eight-round feud. Avila is associated with Nate Diaz‘s group and Taylor is a partner of Jake Paul, as well as Bellator featherweight champion training partner AJ McKee, who was in Taylor’s corner.

Taylor went body early and succeeded with difficult combinations. But in the middle of the battle, Taylor began to run out of strength and Avila began to carry on – in Team Diaz’s signature style. In the fifth round, Avila landed some nifty combos and also went into the body. He hurt Taylor with a left hook after halftime. There are more of them on Friday and Saturday.

Avila had her best round of round of 16, wobbling Taylor with her right hand and nervously following. Taylor was able to survive to the end of the inning and fight.

Avila (1-1), a UFC veteran, got her first win in professional boxing. The 28-year-old from Stockton, California is ranked 8-9 in MMA and is on a two-match winning streak. Taylor (2-3) dropped two consecutive games in boxing. He fell to Tommy Fury in the Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley August 29 card passed unanimous decision. Taylor, 32, Los Angeles resident, 7-5 in MMA.

Love returns with the winning decision

J’Leon Love raised his hand before the score was released because he knew. Over the course of eight rounds against Marcus Oliveira, Love put pressure on and landed with all his might, leading to a decisive 77-75, 79-73, 78-74 victory.

Love (24-3-1, 13 KOs), of Inkster, Michigan, had Oliveira (28-6-1, 22 KOs) against the wire and, it appeared, nearly dropped him in the fifth round. Oliveira survived but from that point forward likely needed a KO to win the fight – a stop he was never close to reaching.

The match, the first Love’s in more than two years, ended a two-game losing streak. It also marks a successful 2021 for Oliveira, who won both of his previous games in 2021. Prior to this year, Oliveira hadn’t won a game since 2015. – Rothstein.

Estela dominates, won by unanimous decision

Jeovanny Estela moved better from the opening bell and for four innings he kept making a small save towards Chris Rollins. So it’s no surprise that Estela won a unanimous decision in the young middleweight fourth round tie, which opened the scoring.

Estela, from Orlando, Florida, seemed poised to take out Rollins (5-3-1, 4 KOs), from Charlottesville, Virginia, multiple times during the fight. But Rollins – the more experienced fighter – held steady in every round. But it is clear from the jump that Estela (6-0, 2 KOs) is the stronger fighter. – Rothstein.
