Jacksonville Jaguars RB James Robinson tore part of Achilles tendon, source says

The Jacksonville Jaguars lost their best offensive player on Sunday when running again James Robinson partially torn his left Achilles tendon in Sunday’s game against New York Jets, a source told ESPN.

An unrelated injury occurred in the first half as Robinson left the post at the bottom of the field. He immediately fell to the ground and grabbed his left foot. He was helped off the pitch and then taken into the dressing room by a stroller with a towel over his head.

Robinson was facing heel and knee injuries in November and missed a game.

Dare Ogunbowale and Nathan Cottrell are the only others in the active list. Signed group Ryquell Armstead earlier this week, but he was inactive.

Robinson is the Jaguars top driver with 767 yards and a total of 979 yards of fouls. Robinson had three runs in 10 yards on Sunday before his injury.

In 2020, Robinson posted the most footage (1,414) and the second most (1,070) in the regular draft era by an unimproved rookie.
