Jackie O reveals new body transformation after ‘falling off the wagon’

Radio star Jackie O has shared her top tips for surviving the first few weeks of dieting — and how to get on the weight-loss train when you’re falling off.

The 47-year-old had previously lost 10kg before “rewarding herself” – and consequently regaining weight.

Now Jackie is determined to lose 12kg and is halfway to her target weight.

Jackie told Sunrise co-host Natalie Barr that she stopped exercising, was eating unhealthily and was falling back into old habits.

“I did the first year and my goal was to lose 20 pounds, which I did,” she began.

“After that I wanted to lose six more.

“But when I hit 20 pounds, I said, ‘Hey, pizza, let’s start eating, I was so good I need to treat myself.’

“And of course (then) you don’t stop rewarding yourself.”

Jackie said she’s slipped back into old habits and the past year has caught up with her.

“I fell off the wagon a bit,” she admitted.

“The beginning is the hardest”

At the restart of the WW – formerly WeightWatchers – program, the mother-of-one said she’s lost six pounds and plans to lose another six before reaching her goal.

“I think when we lose our weight, we’re like, ‘Gosh, I’m not going to do this again, I’m not going to go back to that,'” she said of her previous unhealthy lifestyle.

“Because starting is the hardest part.

“Starting is the most depressing part because you’re like, ‘Why did I let myself put that weight back on?'”

Jackie believes that “it’s normal” to fall off the train sometimes and what matters is to keep finding motivation.

“I think it’s really important to know that if you fall off the wagon, you don’t beat yourself up too much,” she said.

“Just go back and start over, it’s fine.”

The mother-of-one went on to share her best trick to staying motivated.

“I fall when I get home from work and don’t have the groceries in the fridge,” she said.

“So I just say, ‘I’ll take pizza roast.’

“One thing I think is really good is just preparing for the week – making sure you have everything you need.

“If you’re on a program, I think you’re definitely going to lose a pound a week — it’s almost a given.”

Tasks of the godmother

In addition to working on her personal health goals, Jackie has become a godmother to her co-host Kyle Sandiland’s new baby Otto.

“He’s so beautiful and he’s such a good baby, like one of those unicorn babies,” Jackie said of the new addition.

Natalie joked, “How did Kyle end up having a good baby?”

“I dunno,” laughed Jackie.

“I swore he was going to have a difficult baby, I swore to myself, all these years of trying to be a mother, a boring mother, ‘Who would ever be a parent?’ …

“And I thought, someday… someday you’ll find out.

“But no, he has the greatest baby ever.”

Kyle and his fiancée Tegan Kynaston welcomed Otto, their first child, on August 11th.
