UFC lightweight lightweight Dan Hooker must be the happiest man on earth to see his longtime friend and comrade Israel Adesanya victoriously defended his fourth title against his arch-enemies Robert Whittaker in a rematch. The first bout occurred in 2019 when Whittaker was dethroned by Adesanya to claim the UFC’s new middleweight champion and thus the latter ended the old bout through a second round knockout. In the second fight, Whittaker made some really good adjustments to win some rounds, but fell short by unanimous decision.

Hooker is currently losing in the first round to a potential lightweight champion contender Islam Makhachev returned to UFC 267 and thus decided to relegate feathers again. There he has a fight in March at Fight Night London in the O2 Arena, where he will face another promising featherweight prospect in Arnold Allen. Hooker, a product of City Kickboxing, is one of the coolest boxers on the entire list and his notable wins include Paul Felder, Al Iaquinta, James Vick, Nasrat Haqparast, Jim Miller, Gilbert Burns, Mark Diakiese, Ross Pearson and many more.

Hooker came for an interview at Radio submissions for his upcoming fight against Arnold Allen and more, let’s talk about the UFC 271 fight card and the possibility of a third fight between Adesanya and Whittaker.

“You know Israel is my brother and other than that, I want nothing but success for Rob I think he hits you, you know, Israel is the champion and then I feel like Rob is at the top and stands shoulder to shoulder with everyone else in the department… I feel like Rob has a long career ahead of him right It is inevitable that the war will take place a third time Hooker said and concluded.

What do you think of Hooker’s prediction for a trilogy between Adesanya and Whittaker? Do you think a third match is required for the reasons that many believe Whittaker won the second match regardless of the official decision? Or do you feel like Hooker that Whittaker is just taller than the rest of the division even though Adesanya won him over for the second time in a row? Who do you think is Hooker’s next opponent?
