Jorge Masvidal has marked April 8 as an important date on his calendar as he is due to take part in UFC 287’s main event after a lengthy absence: Pereira vs. Adesanya.
After three straight losses to Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman, Jorge Masvidal will take part in the welterweight fight against Gilbert Burns to get back on the winning track.
In the UFC 244 main event, Jorge, currently ranked No. 13 at welterweight, defeated Nate Diaz to win the BMF Championship. The American fighter has competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship for the past decade, winning ten of his 19 fights and losing nine of them.

Concerned about Jorge’s current form and the next fight, Daniel Cormier voiced his concerns. On an episode of the DC & RC Podcast, Cormier opened up about his thoughts on Gamebred.
The UFC legend claims he has no idea why Gamebred agreed to this fight considering how crucial it is to the future of Gamebred’s career. Jorge is now 13th in his division while Burns, his Octagon opponent, is 6th.
“When he wins, he exceeds expectations. If he doesn’t, it’s something that should happen,” Cormier continued. “It is a must. There’s no doubt about it,” Cormier said.

DC didn’t feel like holding back from Masvidal about what would happen if he lost his fourth fight in a row. The UFC analyst has thwarted the 38-year-old’s career by speculating on the possible outcomes of this fight.
“You win or you go back to the previous place. You go back to that place where you fight guys like Al Iaquinta and guys like Michael Chiesa… Not the Colby Covingtons, the Kamaru Usmans and the Gilbert Burns of the world… He has to make it… It’s all about it. ” Cormier added.

Gilbert, Masvidal’s opponent, made his UFC debut in 2014 and has since won 13-5. At UFC258, the Brazilian was beaten by Kamaru Usman in the championship match but he came back to defeat Stephen Thompson at UFC258.
