Ferrari got off to an excellent start in the 2022 season. The team took 4 podiums out of a possible 6 in the first two races of the season. This came as no surprise to anyone as the team had been wealthy since the first session of pre-season testing.

One thing that surprised everyone, however, was Ferrari’s boss Mattia Binottos Presence on the podium after the team’s 2-1 win in Bahrain. In the words of the boss, “I don’t usually go [up to the podium]that is not my style.” that’s why his eyes drooped at the podium celebration.

Mattia Binotto clarifies the reason he went on the podium to celebrate Charles Leclerc and Carlo Sainz. He said in an interview with the IMAGE, “I thought about it a lot and finally forced myself into it because I felt it was the best way to represent the whole team there. For example, if we had picked someone from the engines or aerodynamics department, that would have been just part of it. I wanted to show that this one-two (1-2) belongs to all of us!”

Ferrari played underhandedly during the pre-season testing rounds. They also claimed several times that they would not be the challengers in the first race, despite their drivers topping the timesheets.

But the team knew his pace and his potential, which explains why Ferrari’s boss planned this celebration himself during testing. He said, “I thought about it a week before the race and decided after the race. Everyone at Ferrari has been waiting for the new season and we’ve put a lot of work and passion into it. We knew we had a good car, but it wasn’t until after the race that we realized how good it was. That was a great relief for all of us.”

The Maranello-based team has made the start of their dreams after several years of struggle. With 78 out of a possible 88 points, they are already planning the title.
