Goaltender for the Montreal Canadians Carey Prize welcomed back to his team despite losing to the New York Islanders on Friday night. Their loss couldn’t dampen the positive spirit at Bell Center as the franchise star played his first NHL game since July 7, 2021.

Carey Price had not appeared in an NHL game since the 2021 Stanley Cup Finals, which saw Team Montreal eliminated by the Tampa Bay Lightning. After his recent return, Price made 17 saves in a 3-0 loss to the Islanders. After the game, Price said:

“It was definitely a tough season, for me personally and for the team. I didn’t feel quite normal, but pretty close.”

His recent return to the field was warmly welcomed by his teammates. Montreal winger Paul Byron noted:

“I’m incredibly happy that he was able to play tonight. Finally get in on the game action. He’s a big part of our team and it’s been tough for him here.” “He’s a quiet guy. He has a calm, passive demeanor. But I know how much it meant to him and how much it meant to his family.”

His family also greeted him during warm-up exercises. This was his first play, in which his son Lincoln took part,

“I think he was a bit put off [my] Mask and gear,” Price said jokingly.

Carey Price made his first save in 3 minutes and 32 seconds of the game from a shot by the Islanders’ Kyle Palmieri, as indicated on A standing ovation was given by the crowd to cheer him on and encourage him in his game upon his return.

This is Carey Price’s 15th NHL season with a career-record 360-257-79 in 707 games with the Montreal Canadians.
