Valtteri Bottas has admitted he has had a hard time adjusting to the new clutch paddle layout since moving from Mercedes to Alfa Romeo. The Finn also said it was a problem because of the vibrations on the low-trip tracks, where the riders have to go quite low with the clutch. This has started to cause concern.
Another issue he revealed was the fact that he had some major problems getting off the blocks quickly at the start of the race. We saw it again and again that both Alfa Romeos lost positions at the beginning of the race and then had to catch up. This is also due to the problems with the clutch.
All Ferrari powered cars had the same problem. Even Carlos Sainz admitted he faced a similar problem too. The Spaniard said that it’s not as if Ferrari would bring an update per se, just a technical tweak that would eliminate the problem.

Valtteri Bottas believes this new update from Ferrari would solve the clutch problems
Valtteri Bottas said on this subject that there was an urgent need to eliminate the vibrations on the clutch. He said, “We finally have a new clutch here! We will try it in practice for the first time, but Ferrari has been working on it for quite some time.”
“And now we finally have some new bits for the clutch that should stop the vibrations we’re having.”
“It was quite a compromise. We tended to lose positions on average in the beginning and that’s not great because the midfield is so narrow that once you fall behind someone you’re stuck for 20 laps, which doesn’t make life any easier. So yes, hopefully everything is fine now.”
The Ferrari-powered cars have had many problems when it comes to reliability and if they don’t do much about it, Ferrari and Alfa Romeo may have to pay the price in the Constructors’ Championship.
