Harshal Patel, A Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Pacer claims that his price tag is unimportant and that he only cares about executing his skills on the field. After last year’s stellar run that earned him a purple cap, Harshal Patel was re-signed by RCB at last month’s IPL 2022 mega auction for a paycheck of 10.5 crore. Haryana’s pacemaker Harshal Patel recently joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) training camp to begin preparations for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Speaking in a video uploaded by RCB’s official Instagram name, Harshal Patel said the hefty price tag wouldn’t distract him from his original game plan:

“I will play exactly like I played last year, whether I’m playing for 10 lakhs or 10.75 crores. It does not matter. No new skills, all I’m really hoping for is (that) I’m more precise in my execution, I’m tighter in my execution and if I can do that I’ll be very happy. What I bowl is what I know and that’s not going to change.”

On his preparations to counter batting-friendly lanes in this year’s IPL, Harshal Patel said:

“But what will change is how you adapt to these conditions. How do you pack your six balls? Because when I play in Chennai, I throw more slower balls; If I’m playing on these shot-friendly bouncy fields, I’ll pack my overs a little differently. It’s all about adapting to the conditions and adapting to the opponent. I think every good player should be able to do that.”
