Is Sea of Thieves down? How to Check Sea of Thieves Server and Maintenance Status
The high seas are a chaotic place, but things can get even more hectic on the Sea of Thieves. Online gaming is always subject to occasional server issues, so it can be confusing when you see an error message. Is the problem with you or with the Sea of Thieves servers themselves?
How to Check Sea of Thieves Servers
As of this writing, the Sea of Thieves servers are down for scheduled maintenance for the Season 7 update.
The best place to check if there are any problems with the Sea of Thieves servers is the official server status page. This is the best way to find out if it’s a problem with your local internet connection or with Rare’s servers. If the servers go down, you have the best possible chance of finding out why and when they are likely to be back online.
If that doesn’t work you can always try external server status pages like downdetector but while they can tell you the server is down they won’t tell you the reason for the down.
Finally, you can check the official Sea of Thieves social media pages. These will usually let you know when the outage began and when they may be back online. Just make sure to be friendly to the people who occupy this account. This should give you the latest Sea of Thieves server status information.
Sea of Thieves maintenance times
