Is Grand Teton National Park open on July 4th?

Much of western Wyoming is a beautiful landscape of national parks, as Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park sit right next to each other and make up about half of Wyoming’s western border.

Grand Teton National Park is much smaller than its northern cousin (about a seventh the area), but it’s still one of the most revered national parks for the scenery.

But will Grand Teton National Park be open on July 4th?

Is Grand Teton National Park open on July 4th?

Grand Teton National Park will open on the 4th of July as it is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year. However, there are occasionally some roads or trails that are under construction or closed due to weather.

For example, as of this writing, the Granite Canyon Trailhead is closed and the Moose-Wilson Road from the Granite Canyon entrance to the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve will be closed until Labor Day in just over a week.

You can see all updates from the National Park Service about the park and all national parks in the United States here.

In addition to road closures, they have lots of information on their website including information about camping, the weather, information on passes, boating, biking, rock climbing, hiking, wildlife conservation, their pet policies, and much more.

If you’re traveling to the park this holiday weekend, be sure to check out updates on Yellowstone National Park, which is just 10 miles north of Grand Teton National Park, as it’s had a few closures over the past few weeks and some things are reopening this weekend.

So get out there and enjoy nature in some of the best places our country has to offer, in the great, wide open spaces that make up Grand Teton National Parks and our national parks in general. Is Grand Teton open on July 4th?
