Genshin Impact 2.7 update may be delayed
The developers of the anime-style role-playing game usually release updates within 42 days, with each update divided into two phases. In these two phases, players find new characters or repeat character banners along with events and weapons. Since HoYoverse follows the trend of 42 days in each update, most players can find out the release date of the new update.
It has been speculated that the Genshin Impact 2.7 update will be available on May 11th as the Ayaka rerun banner also ends a day earlier. However, a recent post by Genshin Impact in the HoYoLAB community suggests otherwise. It reveals that after the ley line overflow event, a new event called Marvelous Merchandise will be available.
This new event will apparently run until May 13th, three days after the Ayaka rerun banner wraps up. This indicates that the Genshin Impact 2.7 update has been delayed. Another case to consider for this shift is that the Covid-19 cases have forced China to reimpose lockdowns in cities like Shanghai, where most of the game development has taken place.
Another event called Spices from the West has either been canceled or postponed to update 2.7 due to ongoing Serenitea Pot maintenance. In order to allow access to the Serenitea Pot feature in the Genshin Impact 2.7 update, the developers may be trying to delay the update.
However, this is just speculation and players should wait for the official announcement as the official Genshin Impact Twitter name has not mentioned the Marvelous Merchandise event so far. If the Genshin Impact 2.7 update is delayed, players may get some free Primogems.
