Is Centrelink open tomorrow? Centrelink hours over Christmas explained as payment and reporting dates adjusted for the 2022 holiday season

Australians on Centrelink are being reminded of changes that may affect their payments this festive season.

Services Australia said local service centers will be closed over the bank holiday from Boxing Day to December 28, as well as New Year’s Day and January 2.

“You can continue to use your Centrelink online account via myGov and the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app to report and verify your payments,” Services Australia said.

“It may also take a little longer for us to respond to your questions on social media. Thank you for your patience.”

Self-service will remain active over the Christmas holidays.

According to Services Australia, customers can use the online account through myGov to:

Anyone who has to report their income can continue to do so even if the service points are closed.

The reporting dates have also been adjusted to include public holidays and downtime.

Anyone reporting income for Job Seeker, Child Support, Farm Household Allowance, Austudy, Special Benefit, or Status Resolution Support Services Payment is subject to the following changes.

Reporting and payment dates for pensions

Anyone reporting income to receive Old Age Pension, Disability Assistance Pension, Double Orphan’s Pension, Child Education Allowance, Retirement Education Allowance, Isolated Child Assistance, ABSTUDY, Attendance Allowance, Attendance Allowance or Family Allowance is subject to the changes below.
