Interview with Prince Harry: The Duke of Sussex gives a scathing verdict on why Kate and William Prince and Princess of Wales don’t get along with Meghan

Prince Harry has delivered a scathing verdict on why his brother Prince William and wife Catherine, Princess of Wales don’t get along with his wife Meghan.

In an interview with Tom Bradby for Britain’s ITV, which aired Sunday night local time, Harry opened up about how he originally thought Meghan’s inclusion in the group would bring him and his brother closer.

“I thought that – you know, the four of us would bring me and William closer together, we could go out and work together, um, which I used to do a lot of third wheel for them, um, which was fun at times, but I think too , sometimes a bit uncomfortable,” he said.

The prince then went on to explain exactly why he thought Kate and William weren’t getting along with Meghan.

“I don’t think they ever expected me to have – or become – a relationship with someone like Meghan, who has had a very successful career.

“There were a lot of clichés in the beginning, which I was also guilty of.”

Harry explained that the “stereotype” he was referring to was that Meghan was an “American actress, divorced, multiracial…”.

“Some of the things my brother and sister-in-law — some of the way they acted or behaved — definitely felt to me like unfortunately that stereotyping was kind of a barrier to, you know, introducing her or her.” welcome,” he claimed.

Elsewhere in the interview, Harry said his family had shown “no willingness to reconcile” and defended his decision to make his grievances public.

“Well, they have shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile up to this point,” he said.

“And I’m not sure how honesty burns bridges.”

Prince Harry at the coronation of Charles

Harry was asked in the interview if he would be attending the king’s coronation, to which he replied: “A lot can happen before then.

“But you know, the door is always open. The – the ball is theirs.

“There’s a lot to talk about and I really hope they can – that they’re willing to sit down and talk about it, because a lot has happened in six years.”

Elsewhere in the wide-ranging interview, Harry claimed that he never accused his family of being racist.

Tom Bradby asked him, “You talk about accountability, in the Oprah interview you accused members of your family of racism.”

To which Harry replied, “No, I haven’t. Did – did Meghan ever mention they were racist?”

Bradby replied: “She said there were troubling comments about Archie’s skin colour.”

“There it was,” Harry replied. “There were concerns about his skin color.”

Prince Harry ‘very happy’

Despite everything that happened, the prince insisted during the interview that he was in a “better place” after leaving the royal family.

“I’m very, very happy, I’m very at peace,” he said.

“I’m in a better place than I’ve ever been and I think that’s probably upsetting some people, angry at others.”

Harry’s hot sit down interview will be broadcast exclusively on Channel 7 and 7plus on January 9th.

Harry: The Interview, which was filmed in California where the Prince now resides, will air at 7:30pm on Channel 7 and 7plus.

ITN’s producers were first tasked with sharing Harry’s side of the story when cameras and Bradby followed the royal couple on their first official tour of southern Africa.

During an interview with Bradby on the ITN documentary Harry and Meghan: An African Journey in 2019, the Duchess of Sussex first revealed her sense of isolation within the palace walls and her struggle with her treatment by the British media.

As in his mother’s extraordinary Panorama interview in 1995, viewers can follow the story in Harry: The Interview – which is set to be the most explosive TV interview of 2023.

Harry: The Interview: airs Monday 9th January at 7.30pm on Channel 7 and 7plus.
