Instagram Suspends Ye, Formerly Known As Kanye West, Over “Anti-Jewish” Comments Targeting Sean Combs

Instagram has restricted the account of rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, after he published a post that some groups are calling “anti-Jewish”.
According to a meta spokesperson, Instagram deleted content from Yes’s Instagram page and restricted the account after the company said the rapper broke its rules and policies.
Meta didn’t specify what content was specifically removed from the account and what content violated their rules, but the decision comes after Ye published a now-deleted post on Friday that one group called anti-Semitic.

In the post, Ye shared a screenshot of a text exchange with Sean “Diddy” Combs, captioned “Jesus is Jewish.”
Ye’s message appeared to show that Ye claimed Combs was controlled by Jews, a reference to a long-standing anti-Semitic conspiracy theory.
The post came after Ye appeared in a Fox News interview with Tucker Carlson on Thursday and also echoed anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. In the interview, Ye accused Jared Kushner, a Jew, of brokering Israeli contracts for monetary gain.
In a post Friday, the American Jewish Committee (AJC), an anti-hate group, released a video calling Ye’s remarks anti-Semitic. “These posts are dangerous,” read the post’s caption. In the video, AJC said that Ye used “anti-Semitic language such as greed and control,” and highlighted his appearance on Fox News and his Instagram post.
Ye made a slew of other posts on Instagram Friday night, but appeared to make an abrupt switch to Twitter, a platform where his last post of 2020 was published. In his latest tweet early Saturday, Ye lashed out at Mark Zuckerberg and appeared to be referring to the restrictions on his account.
“How you kicked me off Instagram,” he wrote alongside a photo of Zuckerberg and himself.
She and those close to him have spoken publicly about his struggles with his mental health in the past. He was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2017 and has posted infrequently on social media in the past.
Recently, Ye has used Instagram to attack his estranged wife Kim Kardashian and other business associates.
