Insane detail in man’s vacation photo makes it viral: ‘Holy s***’

Everyone should have their own doppelganger, but this is crazy.

A man has gone viral after posting on Reddit about a surreal vacation experience.

Sean Douglas McArdle was in Las Vegas swimming in the pool at the Flamingo Hotel when something very strange happened.

“Today I accidentally swam past my double seaner at Flamingo Pool in Vegas,” the man wrote.

“I was just passing the pool and a large group of strangers pointed at me and laughed.

“I got very self conscious, looked back at my friends and they were all pointing at him and laughing at him.

“That’s when I saw him.”

“He” turned out to be a man who looked so uncannily like McArdle they could have been twins.

They even wore white baseball caps and the same kind of glasses, and their facial hair was shaped the same way.

“I immediately thought, ‘Holy s***, this guy looks like the guy I see in the mirror,'” McArdle wrote on Reddit, sharing a picture of the two in the pool.

“My second thought was, ‘He looks cooler than me. Probably has real Club Master Ray-Bans as opposed to my Zenni imitations.”

Reddit users had a great day telling McArdle and his lookalike that they looked like dead wrestlers to US actor Seth Rogen too.

“Doppelganger” is a German word meaning “double” or “twin runner”.

It actually refers to “ghostly twins of people who are still alive,” although these days we tend to assume that they’re simply two people who look alike.

But in German folklore, seeing your own doppelganger is a warning of your own death, or at least an omen of bad luck.

Although everyone is said to have a double, you probably don’t want to face them in a hotel pool.
