Individual besties move together to raise their children in the ‘perfect’ arrangement – so would you give it a try?

A pair of single moms have detailed what it’s like raising their two children under one roof after moving in together to share living expenses.
Lauren Robinson, 26, and her five-year-old daughter Haidyn have been living with Samantha Best, 24, and her four-year-old son Kaelin for three months.

The Auckland best friends, who appeared on the Morning Show, said their “perfect” housing situation helped them “financially and emotionally” after their own relationships ended.
“It’s awesome, I’m just so happy that Samantha is there all the time, I love it,” Lauren said.
Speaking about her modern family, Samantha said moving in with Lauren was the “best decision” she’s ever made.
“I can’t even put it into words,” Samantha said.
“I wouldn’t be able to live comfortably on my own, and then just the fact of being alone, it’s very lonely, so having someone around 24/7 is just the best feeling.”

Because the duo work as a “team” to share responsibilities, people have often confused the single moms with an intimate couple.
“We get that a lot,” Lauren said, laughing.
“I think we just have to tell people we’re just best friends.”
The single parents said their children “get along great.”
“We’ve taken her on vacation a few times and it’s really nice and (the moms) have a cheeky wine,” Lauren said.
“They fight like siblings, but that’s to be expected.”
Host Larry Emdur then asked the friends what would happen to their living situation if either of them met a potential husband.
“We talked about it a bit… they just need to move in with us,” Samantha joked.
“No, I think once it comes down to marriage, of course the dynamic will change a bit. But in the meantime, we’re just having fun and raising the kids together.
‘Were happy’
Samantha said with a laugh, “Any potential boyfriend can just move in with us in the meantime.”
Lauren added: “We’re happy the way we are. We’re not looking for anything, so if something comes our way, it will happen.”
Samantha said they are just focused on their careers and raising their kids together.
“They always say if you don’t look, something is coming,” she added.
