Daniel Suarez admitted he is proud of his team and everyone in trackhouse racing for the impressive performance the team has been able to put on so far this season. He added that they had a winning car at last weekend’s Pocono Cup race despite only being able to finish third, adding that they will only be happy if first place is secured for them.

I’m proud of my team and everyone at Trackhouse Racing. We’ve been doing really well lately. But we can get better. I thought we had a winning car at the start of Sunday’s race, but we were just a little off. Third place is a good finish, but we won’t be satisfied until we finish first‘ said Daniel Suarez.

Daniel Suarez, speaking on the Trackhouse car, admitted that they are very confident about the road circuit package they have as they have been able to fight for wins in all these races so far this season. He pointed out that the Indy race is a big deal for everyone on the racing scene, a circuit that could merit two races, once on the oval and the second time on the road.

Yes, we are very confident. We know we have a good road course package. We’ve been fighting for victory on every street course this season… I think Indianapolis is so important to everyone in racing that maybe we should go there twice. (smiling) Once on the oval and once on the street course!added Daniel Suarez.

Ross Chastain admitted he is looking forward to the Indy Road Course given his ability to learn and improve his road racing performance over the years. He added that he hopes the outing will be great for Trackhouse Racing, his teammate Daniel Suarez with his road course experience and his Xfinity outing at the track will produce for him.

I’m looking forward to the Indy Road course. A few years ago I wasn’t very good at street courses, but now I’ve learned so much about driving street courses that I’m looking forward to it. I’ll be driving the Xfinity car on Saturday, which will be good to get some replays before the big race on Sunday. My teammate Daniel Suárez is really good on street circuits. So if all goes well it should be a good weekend for Trackhouse‘ Ross Chastain said.

Ross Chastain went on to talk about his preparation for race day by participating in eating lots of watermelon, alluding to his heritage as a watermelon farmer. He acknowledged that he typically sits in the car for more than three hours, perhaps having in-car snacks and planning the full 38 race Sundays to sharpen up for most laps in the race.

“I eat a lot of watermelons (laughs). I don’t eat what I used to eat and I don’t always eat what I want to eat, but it does help in preparation for Sunday. I’ve been in the car for 3+ hours and want to be as sharp by lap 200 as I was by lap 2. On long, muggy races I might grab an in-car snack. I plan my life on about 38 Sundays a yearadded Ross Chastain.
