GLENDALE, Ariz. – Indianapolis Colts were dealt a heavy blow just hours before their match with The Arizona Cardinals on saturday when the waiter Darius Leonard, receiver Zach Pascal and safe Khari Willis are all placed on the standby / COVID-19 list.
Leonard and Willis were both starters.
The Colts entered Saturday’s game briefly. Left guard Quenton Nelson, guard on the right Mark Glowinski, reverse angle Rock Ya-Sin and finish the defense Kemoko Turay also on the reserve list / COVID-19. center Ryan Kelly will miss the game after the sudden death of his infant daughter.
If Leonard, Pascal, Willis and Nelson are all unvaccinated and test positive, they will also have a match against the Colts’ Week 17 with Las Vegas Raiders on January 2nd.
Leonard, Nelson and Kelly are all on the Pro Bowl team this week. Leonard, the Colts’ defensive leader, had 107 tackles, six forced fumbles, three interceptions and two defensive recoveries during the season.
Nelson and Kelly were the spearheads of the offensive line that helped get back running Jonathan Taylor led the NFL in the plunge yards (1,518) and rushed to the ground (17).
The Colts, winners of five of their last six, entered Saturday as the fifth seed in the AFC playoff hunt. But they are far from that, especially if COVID continues to hit key players on the team. Just one loss separates the teams 5-13 in the AFC playoff race.
