Diaz and Chimaev will make headlines in a 5 round Main Event

Khamzat Chimaev doesn’t seem to have the slightest bit of respect for Nate Diaz. While a good majority of fans wanted Nate’s final fight in the UFC to be something like a triumphant war veteran finally stepping out to put his armor to rest, we got the General having to fend off a rabid pack of wolves before he’s finally coming into retirement.

Such methods of heavily arming their fighters have been well known to the UFC over the years. Sending a young and dangerous prospect like Chimaev against a proven veteran like Nate, who had nothing to do with fighting someone in the top 5 of a division he barely belonged to.

However, Chimaev seems to have taken the henchman role bestowed on him by Dana White a little too seriously. The Chechen approaches his fights with the “Smash All, Kill All” mentality that exists in the new generation of fighters in the caucus region. In fact, his manager told ESPN that Khamzat had actually applied from a stooge to a funeral director as promised, saying: “I will arrange Nate Diaz’s funeral with the UFC”

Recently, Khamzat took to Twitter and used a fan-made meme to show his sincerity towards the role. The fight would be the first major event in the young Chechen’s career, who will also compete in his first 5-rounder in MMA. However, he seems determined to make a mark by literally catching the first murder charge in the octagon.

After initially pointing out the fight by a “spongebob coffin meme” Today, Khamzat went one step further. Today, the young star released a fan-made edit of Chimaev delivering a eulogy at a somber funeral. The tombstone reads Diaz’s name with the dates 2004-2022 on it. The year 2004, the year Diaz officially started his MMA journey.

While it’s unlikely a referee would let it go that far, many are concerned for Diaz’s well-being if the fight were to continue, despite Diaz eating heavy hands. Always the tough guy, you don’t just expect Nate Diaz to walk out of a fight without suffering at least a few cuts.

Despite Nate facing the greatest odds he’s ever faced as the overwhelming underdog against Chimaev, Nate has hit similar odds in the past that have shocked UFC fans and top brass alike. Whether he’ll be able to pull off such a final upset when he goes out remains to be seen.
