dr Phil McGraw decides to continue his premier daytime TV talk show, Dr. Phil” after 21 seasons.
The syndicated daytime show will reportedly end its series of original episodes after the current 2022-2023 television season.
“We’ve helped thousands of guests and millions of viewers with everything from addiction and marriage to mental wellbeing and parenting,” McGraw said in a press release.

“This has been an incredible chapter of my life and career, but as I move from day to day there is so much more I want to do.”
According to the press release, McGraw plans to focus on prime-time programming and plans to announce a strategic prime-time partnership planned for launch in early 2024.
“I am compelled to engage with a wider audience because of my deep concerns for the American family, and I am committed to helping restore a clear purpose and our core values,” McGraw said.
Distributor CBS Media Ventures said it will ship episodes from the station library of Dr. Offer Phil. The Classic Library episodes include some new select content featuring McGraw, as well as guest updates.
“Phil is a valued partner. And while his show may end after 21 years, I’m happy to say our relationship is not,” said Steve LoCascio, president of CBS Media Ventures.
“Phil changed the daytime landscape as the driving force behind one of the most popular talk shows of all time on daytime television.”
dr Phil premiered in September 2002 and was reportedly number two on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
“I’ve been blessed with over 25 wonderful years on daytime television,” said McGraw, who began his television career on The Oprah Winfrey Show in the late ’90s.
According to CBS Media Ventures, Dr. Phil has provided more than $35 million (US$50 million) in resources for his guests over the years.
The program has held the top two rating spots in its genre and received 31 Emmy nominations over the years it has aired.
