Polish tennis star Iga Swiatek is one of the brightest talents of the current WTA tournament. She stunned the world when she won the French Open 2020 as a teenager and since then, she has continuously promoted. Last week, she won her second WTA 1000 title in Doha by defeating Anett Konteveit in the final.
It was also Swiatek’s first WTA 1000 title on the track. In doing so, she rose to 4th place in WTA Rankings and is within striking distance of No. 2. After his victory at the Qatar Open, Swiatek talked about planning a chilling celebration. She says she’s not an expert at celebrating and hasn’t thought of tennis for a long time as a type of celebration.
“I’m not an expert at celebrating, maybe the real celebration isn’t about thinking about tennis in our lives but I think we have to cut things out sometimes,” he said. she speaks.
She further revealed that she is going on vacation for a few days and relaxing with her friends. She also said that she will eventually use her driver’s license and added that she is not the type to party.
“So I’ll have a few days when I’m going to see my friends, I’ll finally use my driver’s license and drive in Warsaw for a bit, I just want to relax, I’m not the kind of person who would go to a party or something,” she added.
Swiatek eyeing Indian Wells
Swiatek added that the Qatar Open was quite difficult for her physically as she played some very intense matches and therefore wants to come back fresh in the next tournament.
“Basically I also want to get back physically, this tournament was pretty tough for me – even though I only played two sets, I felt like this fierce match was really stressful for my body. I,” she speaks.
Pole is now heading to California in a week’s time for another WTA 1000 event at India Wells, where she is expected to do well. After a great outing in Doha, she’ll be one of the favorites at Indian Well also.
