“I’m excited and ready to play anyone” – The Athletic

Jaylen Brown looked at his left hand for a few seconds as if he couldn’t believe what she had just done. Or maybe after a circus-and-1 take, he wanted to give everyone else time to admire the body part that made it.

By making contact with that free hand, Brown had thrown the ball off the highest part of the glass. If he had hit the shot higher, he would have jumped completely over the board. Instead, it hugged the device’s top inch perfectly before gently falling through the rim. The bucket required the finest touch and most precise spin. So Brown held up his hand afterwards. He stared at it for a few seconds. He even turned around and pointed it out just a few feet from the Washington Wizards bench.

Brown probably didn’t want to draw attention to his left wrist injury at the end of last May’s season. However, given the timing of his impossible bucket and the celebration that followed, the connection was hard to escape. At the same point in the season that surgery ended him a year ago, Brown is ready for his next challenge. Even if he didn’t want to send the whole message, it got through: Unlike a year ago before the playoffs, Brown’s left hand is working better than ever.

“I’m very excited and looking forward to the playoffs,” said Brown.

After missing out on the fun last season, Brown is dying to jump back in. By saying that he believes “the stars are aligned for his team,” he made it clear that he knows the Boston Celtics have an opportunity to enter the Eastern Conference. Brown intends to do his part to seize this opportunity. “I’m excited and ready to play anyone” – The Athletic
