As fake as that sounds, Ice Wars is a real thing. Ice War International power hockey fight a reality. The action brings this fiction to life by combining ice hockey fights with the MMA ruleset.

The promotion kicked off in May 2022 with the very first event of its kind. The first of four events in Edmonton featured professional and semi-professional fighters competing in a one-minute, two-round bout. After a mixed reaction from fans, the promotion organized the second event on August 6th at the River Cree Resort and Casino, Edmonton, Canada.

The card is overwritten by Daniel Amesbury and Kurtis Swanson. The main event is a three-round non-title match between the heavyweights. Amesbury is the current heavyweight king.

Similar to fighting ice Hockey Games, these battles have a number of rules, albeit a few different ones. Some of the others involve no head butting or biting, the fighter’s helmet and gloves must remain on at all times, and no hair pulling or kneeling.
