‘I hate that people compare the two’ Clippers star Paul George is reluctant to dig into the GOAT debate between Michael Jordan and LeBron James

After Los Angeles Lakers star Lebron James broke Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s record, the GOAT comparison between him and Michael Jordan started all over again.

Without a doubt, Michael Jordan has been hailed as the ultimate goat in NBA history. But for Lebron James’ performance over the past few years, the NBA community is now seriously elevating him to the podium as the ultimate goat.

In that regard, Los Angeles Clippers small forward Paul George joined the debate but offered an unpopular opinion on the agenda.

What did Paul George say in the GOAT debate?

The 32-year-old got a little annoyed when it came to his deliberations on the goat debate. James or Jordan? The star didn’t agree to champion either of them, saying, “I hate that people compare the two.”

“I never want to just say that one is better than the other because, to be honest, MJ wasn’t asked to do what LeBron is asked to do. Different game, different styles, different positions,” he continued. “LeBron is not being asked to do what Jordan is doing. So it’s hard to debate the two and say who the GOAT is.”

“If MJ had known this LeBron example was coming, he would have definitely said, ‘Okay, I’m not taking years off. We will continue to improve on this,” concluded George.

Fans like me tend to stick with their one childhood idol and keep supporting them no matter what. With that in mind, we can’t deny the phenomenon LeBron created over his 19-year NBA career.

The four-time NBA champion may not have reached His Airness’ level of popularity, but we have to consider cultural and environmental changes in the American sports industry.

No matter who our favorite player is, we must appreciate each Legend’s contribution to our entertainment. That’s the least we can do as fans. There will come a time when we will regret not being able to watch Lebron’s play like we do with Michaels.
