Lewis Hamilton managed to walk away from his home Grand Prix with a good charge Points after landing his W13 in P3 at the end of the race. The Brit showed his gratitude to the team after the race for the great job they have done with the improved package.

Lewis Hamilton said before the race he would be aggressive from the start and that’s exactly what the Brit was throughout the 52 laps of the race.

Today’s result was all the more important after his team-mate Russell retired within the first 21 seconds of the race and Hamilton, reflecting on his performance, said: “I gave everything today. I was trying to chase those Ferraris. Congratulations to Carlos! They were simply too fast for us today. I ended up in this fight with Checo and those guys were just too fast on the straights.”

The 37-year-old has indicated he gave it his all on track today but chasing after Sergio Perez’s Red Bull was just asking too much of W13. However, as a great ambassador for the sport, Lewis has congratulated Carlos Sainz on his first Formula 1 win.

The Silverstone Grand Prix was packed with heart-pounding action as the race produced moments that fans will long remember.

Lewis Hamilton was at the center of the chaos that ensued around him in the closing stages as five cars attempted to secure the top three places.

Hamilton, while stressing about the crazy action, said: “We lost some time warming up. The pace was great on both tires. When you have a Red Bull behind you, they are so fast on the straights. I’m glad everyone is safe after the big crash at the start.”
