Carlos Alcaraz murdered his Monte Carlo loss to Sebastian Korda by beating him 6-4 6-4 6-4 to advance to the final fourth round at Roland Garros. The Spaniard played the kind of match he needed to play to advance to the next round. He needed a comfortable win over Korda after playing five rounds against Ramos and he got it in three sets and about two hours of play. Alcaraz got off to a good start against Korda, who was scared and couldn’t find his rhythm.
He served well, although his forehand had a lot of dropouts. Carlos Alcaraz, on the other hand, performed much better against Ramos. Both had a negative winner-fault rate, but Alcaraz had one higher number of wins and distribute them more evenly. It was enough to win the first set 6:4. In the second set, both players were more aggressive as they gave each other chances.

Korda had a breakpoint early in the game, but he didn’t use it. It was a setback for him because he dropped serve in the next game. Afterward Alcaraz dominated the set, won it 6-4. Korda got the second set off to a good start, holding serve early and rescuing a break point. He then had a 40-15 lead on Alcaraz’s serve, but he folded after failing to convert.
Alcaraz won the match 6-2 in the deciding set, with Sebastian Korda making 14 errors and only three wins, which clearly wasn’t good enough. Korda’s total of 23 and 40 would never be enough, especially against Alcaraz’s excellent score of 23 and 26.
Following his win, the Murrican said in his on-site interview: “It’s incredible to play in front of such a great crowd and atmosphere. It’s fun to play. I think all the people enjoyed the game and I get to play in front of such a good crowd.”
“Every game I try to have fun out there. I like playing tennis. I love playing on a tennis court like this. I love playing in front of such a great crowd, like I said, so I’m enjoying every single second: “ he added.
