Hulu has released a full trailer for its true crime limited series candy. The show follows the true story of Candy Montgomery, a seemingly normal housewife in the small town of Wylie, Texas who was convicted of the brutal 1980 ax murder of her neighbor Betty Gore, starred in the show Melanie Lynsky.
Candy’s attorney on the show is played by Raul Esparza (Hannibal), Timothy Simmons (veep) plays Candy’s husband Pat Montgomery and Paul Schreiber (gloriole) is Betty’s husband Alan Gore. The series was created by Robin Veithwho previously wrote for the true crime series Hulu The actwho writes four episodes of the series.
This looks like a really good series. It’s one of two competing miniseries based on the Candy Montgomery murder case slated to premiere this year. The other is love and deathan HBO Max original series created by David E Kelley these stars Elizabeth Olsen as Montgomery et al Lili Rabe as Gore. The release date for love and death has not yet been announced.
Hulu is released candy as a five-part event. Following the premiere of the first episode on Monday, May 9th, new episodes will be released each night of the week, culminating in the finale on May 13th. Watch the full trailer below and let us know what you think.
