Howard Kurtz blasts media for ignoring Durham-Clinton news

Fox News presenter Martha MacCallum there was a Fox media reporter Howard Kurtz to discuss covering the latest news from the media John Durham’s FBI investigation probe Russia election interference in 2016

MacCallum began the segment by saying:

One of the big questions is the coverage of this story and the lack of evidence of relevance for this Durham profile given the weekend we’re seeing there. Let me play to remind people the way so many media outlets have portrayed the Trump-Russia collusion story way back here. Clock.

She then ran a mix of multiple MSNBC and CNN hosts that fired Special Counsel Durham, who was appointed in 2019 by then-Attorney General. Bill Barr to consider the origin of trumpet allegation of collusion.

“So now there are news and developments in this story, Howie, are they being reported?” MacCallum asked.

“It is amazing that almost all the major newspapers and other networks have so firmly ignored this story,” Kurtz said.

He continued, calling what he saw as a double standard in making the January 6 and Durham commission:

They cover up every January 6 committee clearing and all the information about the Russian portal you just told us, but here’s a real federal prosecutor providing factual evidence on file court, not some anonymous story. However, other places are just magically claiming it’s not news. No – well, it’s either over-hyped or it’s unproven. Did not receive a mention. I think they’ll be back today with some coverage news.

“You wonder if the momentum goes into overtime so they don’t skip it,” MacCallum said, before recommending a clip of it. Lesley Stahl above 60 minutes challenge the then President Donald Trump for saying Clinton “watched my campaign.” Stahl insists that the accusation has not been verified.

“There are some things we don’t know,” Kurtz continued. How much Hillary Clinton The campaign knows about this former attorney under the indictment? There were no comments from camp Hillary on any of these. Kurtz was referring to Michael Sussmann, the Democratic attorney who was charged in 2021 by Durham with lying to the FBI. Durham alleges that Sussmann, who worked for the Clinton campaign, collected data to try to convince the FBI that Trump has illicit ties to Russia.

“So for him to put these allegations in the court papers was absolutely important news, especially in light of the context,” Kurtz continued. “Now, even if it’s worse than Watergate as the former president said, Watergate is a massive criminal conspiracy, we’ll see. But I don’t see how any news organization can dispel this because it doesn’t fit the narrative that Trump is creating the idea that he has been unbiasedly surveyed or spied on. Fit “.

CNN covered Durham on Monday, following Kurtz’s comments, both on Leader with Jake Tapper and online.

CNN published An article titled, “Special Counsel Durham Alleges Clinton Campaign Lawyers Used Data To Cast Doubts About Trump.” Tapper’s reporting mirrors an online article written by Katelyn Polantz and Evan Perez. Perez joined Tapper in explaining the latest news from Durham.

As of Monday night, MSNBC had made no mention of Durham, according to a search on the channel’s SnapStream.

Fox News, which did not stop covering the story, published An online article aggregating the latest Durham news headlines, “Clinton campaign paid to ‘infiltrate’ Trump Tower, White House server to link Trump to Russia: Durham.”

While the two articles clearly take a different tone on the implications of the latest news by Durham, the former chief of intelligence under Trump, John Ratcliffeoffered an important explanation as to whether Clinton was “stalking” Trump.

Fox News presenter Bill Hemmer Ratcliff asked if the term “intrusion” means “hacking” Trump’s servers. Ratcliff said, “no.” He added that the access behind the data collected about Trump came from “legitimate access to government servers.”
