How to win as a crew member in Among Us Hide and Seek

Among Us recently received a new game mode called Hide and Seek. This is a faster way to play Among Us and can be just as fun as classic mode. The rules have changed, making previous strategies unsuitable for winning Hide and Seek. Although it looks easier to survive, the odds are against Crewmates from the start.

Luckily, it’s not impossible for Crewmates to win against the Impostor. With the right planning, tactics, and communication, you can defeat the Impostor without getting killed yourself. When you reach your end, you can still help other players win.
1) Watch out for the scammer in the beginning
Unlike the classic mode, where the identity of the cheater remains secret, you will be told which player is the cheater before the round starts. This way you can know what the scammer looks like and who to run away from.

The displayed player will only turn into the cheater after ten seconds, giving you time to get to safety. Don’t linger as you can be killed if you get complacent.
2) Walk around the map constantly
Although completing tasks is highly recommended, the scammer can catch you in the middle of performing a task. If you don’t think it’s safe, it’s better to walk around the map and stay mobile. The Impostor is no faster than a Crewmate by default, and you can run around the Impostor provided you don’t hit a dead end.
3) Complete tasks whenever possible
Your goal is to survive until the timer runs out, which is a three-minute timer followed by a 60-second countdown. Completing tasks will decrease the three-minute timer by some time, giving you a better chance of surviving. You can’t shorten the 60-second countdown, but the sooner you reach it, the better your chances of winning.

4) Pay attention to the danger indicator
The Danger Gauge is a bar in the upper-left corner of the screen. It has four colors: grey, blue, yellow and red.

- Gray means the scammer is not near you.
- Blue means the impostor is close to the general area, but it’s possible to miss each other.
- Yellow means the scammer is a bit close to your position and you should consider running away.
- Red means the scammer is very close to your position and may hit you. Hiding should be your first priority.
If you pay attention to the danger meter, you can dodge the impostor as he will give you a sign of how close he is. Hiding and giving up quests are reasonable options if you think the scammer is approaching. Completing a task isn’t worth the potential risk of being killed by the imposter, and the Danger Meter will show you how risky your next steps are.
5) Watch your hiding count
Unlike classic mode, you can’t hide endlessly. You can only hide a certain number of times in each game, and you are forced to exit the opening/hole after a few seconds. Choose your hiding spots wisely and make sure you hide at the right time. Hide when your danger meter is red or the imposter managed to track you during the last countdown.

6) Communicate with other players
If you can, talk to other players about the impostor’s whereabouts. Dead players can track the impostor and keep track of their location. With the information, you can avoid the impostor even if he’s walking around during the Final Hide. As long as the information is reliable, you can avoid being killed by the imposter and survive a round.
