How to watch Spring Carnival: Seven’s commentary team brings you the biggest and best horse racing moments

The 2022 Spring Racing Carnival has come to life on the Seven Network, with some of Australia’s premier racing days including the Caulfield Cup, Everest, Cox Plate and Golden Eagle broadcast live and free on Seven.

Seven brings viewers the biggest and best moments, the glitz and glamor of Australia’s most popular racing days, across five weeks of live and free Spring Racing Carnival coverage.

Throughout the spring, Seven’s race coverage will once again be led by Australia’s preeminent sports broadcaster, Bruce McAvaney. He will be joined by 7Racing’s Hamish McLachlan, Jason Richardson, Emma Freedman, Lizzie Jelfs, Deane Lester and Kate Waterhouse.

In a coup for fans, Racing’s No. 1 commentary team has been bolstered by the arrival of Farmer Wants A Wife special guest Samantha Armytage, three-time AFL Premiership player Josh Gibson, connoisseur Jess Bott and aspiring fashion reporter Grace Hayden.

7Racing pundit Katelyn Mallyon has gone on maternity leave ahead of the 2022 Spring Racing Carnival.

Managing Director Seven Melbourne and Head of Network Sport Lewis Martin said: “The Spring Racing Carnival holds an important place on the international sporting calendar and grows stronger every year.

“The traditional races of the Caulfield Guineas, Caulfield Cup and Cox Plate are now complemented by the compelling buzz and glamor of The Everest, The Invitation and The Golden Eagle – making the Spring Carnival even more exciting.

“After two years impacted by COVID, we can’t wait to see Australians return to their home circuits to enjoy the excitement and fun of this year’s Spring Racing Carnival. This spring, Seven, Your Home of Racing is the best place to see the most prestigious racing across Australia,” he said.

This Saturday, Seven will bring viewers all the excitement of Caulfield Guineas Day in Caulfield and Silver Eagle Day in Randwick, with coverage beginning at 11:00am AEDT.

The Spring Racing Carnival is the culmination of the 7Racing portfolio, which will cover races every Saturday of the year for the next five years.

Bruce is recognized on the world stage and is one of the biggest sports broadcasters Australia has ever seen and heard. SAMANTHA ARMY DAYS

A veteran TV presenter and journalist, Sam has long been a lover of thoroughbred horse racing before embarking on her recent journey with Seven on Farmer Wants A Wife. As an owner and breeder, Sam has a deep understanding and appreciation for the sport and will be an integral part of Seven’s coverage of Spring Racing Carnival in 2022.
