The Champions League is back! After a short break, the round of 16 second leg can be kicked off on Wednesday. Porto are past the group stage and now face Inter at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on February 22 at 15:00 ET. Inter are expected to win but as chances didn’t stop Porto in that last game, the team may have another surprise up their sleeve.

Porto extended their winning streak to four in November 2022. Porto won by one goal to slip past Atletico Madrid 2-1. Atletico Madrid may consider this payback for the 2-1 loss to Porto when the sides last played each other in September 2022.

While Inter went high 4-0 against Viktoria Pilsen in October 2022, that drive ended abruptly. In November 2022, Inter lost 2-0 against FC Bayern Munich. Inter’s slight goal loss was the unsatisfactory continuation of the goalscoring outing in the game before.

Last year, Porto reached the group stage last season but didn’t make it to the knockout stages. Inter survived the group stage of the Champions League but lost 1-0 to Liverpool in the round of 16. In the Europa League game that followed, they made it to the group stage but didn’t progress any further.

Porto’s win elevated them to 4-2, while Inter’s defeat dropped them to 3-1-2. We’ll see if Porto can repeat their recent success or if Inter recover and reverse their fortunes.
