How to use zip lines in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

There are many side areas in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. These side areas often lead to new areas for you to discover along with quests and unique enemies. With a world this beautiful, there’s no doubt you’ll want to explore it. In the beginning you won’t be able to explore much. This is because some areas are hidden behind climbing walls and zip lines. Ziplines are ropes that span great distances and allow you to cross gaps. Here’s how you can use them.

Before you can use the ziplines, you must first complete the story up to Chapter 3. In this chapter you will meet a character named Juniper. Like all other characters you have met so far, she will slow down your characters’ progress and challenge you to a fight.

After the battle, begin Juniper’s heroic quest. This quest doesn’t take very long and is part of the main story, so you can’t miss it. Once you complete the quest, you’ll gain access to Juniper’s class and the party skills required to use the zip lines. Once that’s done, the game will tell you that you’ve unlocked the class ability and you can use the zip lines.

In case you haven’t noticed, ziplines have large metal boxes attached to them. There is a long rope coming out of the metal box and spanning chasms. Head over to a zipline with your newly acquired party skill and you’ll automatically slide across it. No buttons need to be pressed to interact with it. Be careful when boarding a zip line. If you slip slightly while entering one, you will likely fall to your death.
