How to use the livery editor in Gran Turismo 7

One of the major changes that Gran Turismo 7 has seen for the series is the new and improved Livery Editor. Here, players can design and customize virtually every inch of their car, then upload their creations to the showcase for others to use. However, some players may wonder where the feature is from the beginning of the game. Here’s how to use it and get the most of its potential.

Unlock the livery editor

The livery editor is a menu tied to the new GT Auto tab on the world map, but it cannot be opened right after the game starts. Like most of the features included in the map, it must be unlocked by completing menu books in the cafe. In short, compete in the races and rank third or higher until the menu books reward you with GT Auto and its many customization features.

The editor’s customization options and how to use them

Similar to Gran Turismo Sport, you can still add a laundry list of different colors and decals via the livery editor – but with a new, exciting option. If you have applied external car parts such as spoilers or aprons, you can change their color in the “Decals” menu or even add logos, patterns or custom messages. Each of these options can be found by adding layers to each area (as shown above). This feature also extends to rear windows, side mirrors and windshield banners, leaving you with endless possibilities for your final product.
