How to sign up for the Minecraft Championships MCC Island beta

When MMC Island was first announced, it was full of mysteries. Fans were left with just a short video and a promise that there would be an open beta soon. That was more than a year ago and there weren’t many updates around this new server. You can still sign up for the MMC Island open beta, but be prepared for the possibility of disappointment if you don’t attend.

MMC Island Open Beta – Registration and Selection Process

While we still don’t have a definitive date for when the beta will start, signing up for the MMC Island open beta is a fairly simple process. Simply visit the Noxcrew website and enter your email address in the form to sign up for the newsletter. It shouldn’t take more than a few minutes and guarantees you a chance to receive an invite.

However, it is only a chance. As explained in a post on the MCC Island forums, the selection process for the MCC Island open beta will be a lottery. The players are randomly selected from the group of registered people. Initial ripples will be small to give servers time to handle the load, but future ripples will be larger once the team is confident their hardware can handle it.

Is there anything you can do to increase your chances of being selected? At this point no – the selection process is completely random. The forum post linked above specifically mentions that no one at Noxcrew can change or manipulate the results.

If you’re lucky enough to get this golden ticket, you’ll be asked to enter your Minecraft: Java Edition username to access the server. You must then follow the link to MCC Island’s website to redeem your ticket through their shop, a system chosen for the extra security it offers.

All of this applies to Open Beta General Admission tickets. There will also be a Fast Pass admissions system, but no details on that have been announced yet.
