How to recruit Ethel as a heroine in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

Your party in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 starts with six members once the world starts to open and you exit the tutorial. Thanks to being seventh in your group, you can actually get one more person to join your team. This slot can be occupied by one of the many heroes that you can discover around the world. These heroes each have their own special class that sets them apart. Ethel is the Flash Fencer, a powerful attacker and the first hero you can get in the game.

Where is Ethel in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

You will meet Ethel in the second chapter of the game. First you have to fight them. After you show her a thing or two and defeat her in battle, she’ll see that you’re not actually enemies. After that, you will end up in Colony 4.

Ethel can be found outside of Colony 4. Follow the hero quest called No Want of Courage. This is Ethel’s heroic quest and it will take you straight to where she is waiting on top of a large rock pillar. After a short cutscene, continue your quest.

How to recruit Ethel

Once you find Ethel, you must complete her hero quest to recruit her. Her quest is relatively short and teaches you about the in-game Supply Drop system. Your quest is to track down a supply drop and capture it for yourself. Once that’s done, return to Colony 4 and Ethel will be unlocked. You can equip them for the hero slot by going into the menu with the X button, selecting the Heroes option, and then equipping them in the hero menu. You also gain access to the Flash Fencer class by completing her quest.
