Salmon Run is a game mode that excites many Splatoon fans. The mode was originally a limited-time event. Our first tip is to always work with your team. Even if you don’t talk to them in a voice channel, you should work together to survive and defeat Boss Salmonids. Use the D-Pad up and down to direct everyone to the incoming bosses and let them know when you’ve been spattered. Shoot downed teammates to revive them.

Try to avoid going off alone. The first few waves are usually manageable, but the last wave can really cause problems when someone’s solo and getting splashed by enemies.

Never stop delivering golden eggs

The main goal of Salmon Run is to get golden eggs in the basket. Don’t do anything to put yourself in a bad spot, but you should always work to collect and deliver them. Also, you can only carry one at a time. Make sure to toss the eggs into the basket from afar to save some time, and go into swim form to get your ink back. Sometimes waves with turrets appear. Each round of Salmon Run gives you one of four weapons to use before randomly swapping in the next wave. Depending on the weapon you should approach the level differently.

When you have the scooter, you should focus on covering the area and running over smaller enemies. The larger enemies will bounce you off them, so try not to get too close.

If you have the Splattershot or Dual version, these are your main damage dealers for larger enemies and boss salmonids. You can hit them consistently from a small distance and are pretty good overall.

Once you’ve obtained the Splat Charger, don’t get caught in the heat of battle. Instead, try to stay elevated above everyone else. Also, this is your main line of defense against flying enemies. It’s not as good a sniper as you’d see in traditional shooter games, but it can deal heavy damage to enemies and travel through rows of enemies. You can also hit downed teammates from afar if you play it safe.

Be careful with your special use

Unlike the main multiplayer mode, your special attack in Salmon Run does not recharge. Instead, you have two uses of it throughout the game. Do your best to save these for the end, or only use them in dire situations. Especially when you’re fighting a Chinook Salmon, you’ll definitely want these available for the big guy to use.
