As part of the first post-launch DLC for Rainbow Six Extraction, Zofia joins the ranks as the game’s 19th Operator. Fans of the series will be familiar with Zofia from Rainbow Six Siege, while newcomers may be interested to learn that she is Ela’s older sister. Armed with the KS79 Lifeline twin-barrel launcher that fires stun and impact grenades, Zofia can certainly deliver a punch in close combat, similar to Nomad’s style of clearing.
The best weapon for Zofia
Since she currently only has access to one secondary weapon, the RG15 semi-automatic pistol is solid without the visor, you just have to pick a favorite weapon for her primary reload slot. To be fair, her starting LMG-E is arguably as good as it gets, with decent damage, decent recoil, and 150 rounds in a clip, meaning you won’t need to stop the action to refills regularly – with a 2.5x Range option taking it from mid-range combat to longer range.
At Level 3 you can exchange it for an M762 assault rifle, which can be a bit more powerful, but the recoil can be harder to manage and so you may not get the same kind of hit rate destination. At Level 6 you unlock the Scorpion Evo 3 A1, a bit ‘spray and pray’ but the high rate of fire can be awesome. Finally, there’s the FO-12 combat shotgun, available when Zofia reaches Level 9. It’s not quite as meaty as some of the other pistols in the game, but this is offset by a quick reload , but overall we still prefer the original LMG to the -E.
How to use Zofia’s KS79 Lifeline ability
Zofia can launch twin KS79 Lifeline which can be useful in a number of offensive and defensive situations. Impact and stun grenades work like the throwable variants, with two of each available from the start (and interchangeable on the fly like with Capitao’s crossbow bolt). This is quickly increased to three at Level 2, with a max Zofia reloading one round of each type every two minutes.
As with Nomad’s Airjab launcher, there are few subtleties to using Zofia’s Lifeline, though at least the stun grenade won’t go unnoticed. The main benefit is affecting multiple enemies within a three meter radius, whether you’re on the front foot or holding the defense. Either way, it’s a great way to stop an aggressive mob, giving you time to reload your main weapon or retreat quickly to safety.
How to Use Zofia’s Extraordinary Ability
An added feature of Zofia’s arsenal is her Resist ability. In fact, this set acts like a Revival Set, providing a one-time-use-only respawn when you put it down. Best of all, it’s an activity ability that doesn’t count as an inventory item, just appearing as a button prompt on the screen when you’re DBNO. It works a bit slower than standard respawn, but it’s basically a free extra time that also gives you the option of using another gear item you might have previously closed Revive Kit’s safety net package. Initially, this skill only revives you with 5% of your restored health, but when you reach Level 7, this skill increases to 70 health.
Along with Resilient Revival – the ability to self-revive if you get enough kills when killed, shared by the likes of Finka, Smoke and Capitao – and a much greater resistance to blinding effects, Zofia is sure certainly able to retain himself as part of a well-oiled team. With her KS79 always controlling enemies and LMG-E making them wasteful, we can imagine her becoming a popular pick across most mission types.
