How to photograph a monksnail in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

A sailor in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak wants a photo of Monksnail. The picture makes sure he’s not crazy about what he saw and wants you to prove it to him. You must visit a specific region in Sunbreak if you want to find a Monksnail and take a picture of it. In this guide we will cover how to photograph a monksnail in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.

Where to photograph a Monksnail – Giant in the Frost Islands?

You must travel to the Frost Isles if you wish to take a picture of this creature. However, you must make sure that you visit this place at night. Monksnails do not appear during the day.

When you get to the area, we recommend heading to the northeast part of the map, to area eight. You can fast travel to the camp in this area if you have unlocked it. When you arrive, swing your Wirebug over to the frozen ship overlooking the area and climb to the top of the mast, facing the sea to the east.

The monksnail should slowly make its way through the sea and pass the mountain. You might miss it if you take too long to visit this place. We recommend going on an expedition to find this creature and not spending your time trying to take a monster at the same time. For the quest to count, grab your game camera from the menu and take a picture of it before exiting the area.

You will want to search for the Monksnail in a high-level expedition. In our experience, attempting to visit the Frost Isles in a Master rank mission did not spawn a Monksnail, which prevented us from completing the quest. Therefore, you must do this while exploring a high tier Frost Island.
