How to make Refined Eitr in Valheim

One of the most interesting new features in Valheim’s Mistlands update is the addition of magic to the world. This new power is called Eitr in the game and our characters can use it to craft new weapons and items. But to do that you need to find a way to extract and refine that magic, and so Refined Eitr can become a powerful tool in the new endgame. It’s not easy to get, however, and it involves a production chain similar to others in the game. In this guide we will tell you how to get Refined Eitr in Valheim from start to finish.

How to craft a juice extractor in Valheim

To begin your Eitr production chain, you will first need a Juice Extractor. You will not automatically receive the recipe for this structure, you must first loot a Dvergr Extractor from one of their camps in the Mistlands. These new enemies aren’t immediately hostile, but if you wander into one of their camps, look for a crate containing glowing blue runes. This marks it as a removal container. But be warned – if you pry open the crate they will turn hostile, so prepare for a fight in advance.

Once you get your first Dvergr Extractor, you’ll also get the Juice Extractor recipe. Use it to search for Yggdrasil’s roots in the Mistlands, and specifically for glowing green cracks along the bark. This is where the juice collects. Build a workbench nearby, then build the Sap Extractor on the glowing crack. You need:

  • 5 Black Metal
  • 10 Yggdrasil Wood
  • 1 Dvergr extractor

As you collect more Dvergr Extractors, you can build multiple Juice Extractors to speed up the process. In any case, you will have to wait for some juice to be extracted. It can hold up to 20 at a time.

How to make Refined Eitr in Valheim

To craft Refined Eitr you will need several materials and a new workstation that Eitr Refinery. Make sure you build the refinery in a location away from anything you don’t want to ruin. A safe distance of about a dozen meters should be enough. We’ll explain why later in the guide. To craft the Refinery you will need:

  • 5 Black Core
  • 5 Black Metal
  • 20 Black Marble
  • 10 Yggdrasil Wood
  • 3 juice

With the device built, you can start producing Refined Eitr. There are two components you need to craft it at the Refinery:

  • Juice — Extracted from the Sap Extractor you built earlier.
  • soft tissue — You can get this by using your pickaxe on the giant dark bones in the Dverger camps. This will provide Soft Tissue and Black Marble, but can also attack the locals, so be warned. Otherwise, it can also be found in random crates in Dverger camps.

Once the refinery is activated, it will produce Refined Eitr. It looks like glowing greenish orbs pulsing with magical energy. However, this impulse is dangerous, and therefore you should build the refinery away from other structures. It can damage your base with each pulse and even destroy parts if left unattended. That’s why it’s also a good idea to be nearby to pick up produced Refined Eitr immediately, just in case. Picking up your first Refined Eitr will unlock many new recipes that use it as one of their components.
