How to make potions in Horizon Forbidden West

Healing potion is one of the most important items you should carry with you as you travel through the wilderness of Horizon Forbidden West. There are three types of potions you can use to heal Aloy; small, medium and large. The bigger the health potion, the more health you get. This is how you craft health potions in Horizon Forbidden West.

While crafting health potions can be great, you can also purchase them from various vendors found throughout the game. The three types of health potions you can craft require the following materials:

  • Small – Two pills and one wild game
  • Medium – Three potions, three wild game meats, and one live animal
  • Large – Five medicinal fruits, five wild meats and one fiber

The ingredients needed to craft various healing potions can be found throughout the wilderness. There are two ways you can craft potions, either on your body with the Hunter’s Toolkit or at the base using the workbench.

To craft potions while out in the wild, hold down the D-Pad key until a menu appears. You will be able to use the right and left buttons on the D-Pad to select the potion you want to craft. Hold the X button to create them after you select them. Crafting potions at the workbench also has benefits. If you decide to go back to camp to use the workbench, you will usually spend less material to craft the items. The desk will also pull from documents stored in Aloy’s vault, not just hers.
