The Forerunner is an Exotic weapon that was added to Destiny 2 during the 30th Anniversary Event. To get it, players must complete the Magnum Opus quest. After that, they’ll have access to a very powerful primary sidearm, but one that can be made even better by looting the Forerunner Catalyst. This guide will cover how to get the Forerunner Catalyst in Destiny 2 and what to do to make it fall.
Where to find the Forerunner Catalyst in Destiny 2?
The only way to get the Forerunner Catalyst is to work through the Dares of Eternity event with Xur. You can find this on the Goals screen, which should be on the bottom right of your screen, on the Eternity node. You need to find the Anomalous Access Card, a reward at Xur’s merchant for reaching rank 16 with him, which means completing multiple Dares of Eternity event missions and bounties for Xur. If you want to progress through these ranks quickly, completing Legend Dares of Eternity rounds with your friends is the quickest way to do it.

After getting the map from Xur, you will receive the Magnum Opus II quest, which will get you a score of 225.00 points during a Dares of Eternity round. You can do this much faster by progressing through this mode on Legend difficulty. If you get this score you will get an anomalous weapon part that you must take to Banshee-44 in the Tower where you will get the Forerunner Catalyst.
Now that you have the Forerunner’s Catalyst and hopefully the weapon, you can now work your way to unlocking the Catalyst to attach it to the weapon. You can do this when you complete 700 kills with the Forerunner.
