How to get Numemon in Digimon Survive

Numemon is one of the first monsters you will encounter as you progress through the Digimon Survive story. Even better, it’s also a champion Digimon, one evolution up from the rookie Digimon you’re probably familiar with before this point. Because of this, Numemon is a valuable potential recruit in the early stages of the game. It’s also useful for its powerful vertical movement, large health pool, and good elemental damage.

How to make friends with Numemon

In order to befriend Numemon, you must negotiate with one during a battle. Your earliest opportunity to do so is in Chapter 2 of the story, in the open battlefield outside of school. However, Numemon’s negotiation is a little different than most other monsters in the game. Usually these dialogues involve a Digimon asking you a series of questions, but Numemon doesn’t appear to be able to speak and instead communicates through body language. Her goal is to respond in a way that makes Numemon comfortable, which in this case seems to involve being gentle but firm. However, if you’d rather skip the guesswork, the best answers to each possible question are as follows:

prompt best answer
(The monster leans forward and scowls at you.) [Mimic his posture.]
(The monster stares at him in fascination.) [Stare right back.]
(The monster tries to say something.) [Give it some food.]
(The monster just stands there.) [Gesture.]
(The monster cautiously looks in that direction.) [Prepare to fight.]
(The monster seems interested in what people say.) [Talk to him slowly.]
(The monster shakes its head as it begins to walk.) [Speak kindly to him.]

Once you’ve answered enough questions correctly, you’ll have a choice of either asking for items or befriending Numemon. Although the latter option comes with a chance of failure, you still have the option to replay Free Battle as many times as you like. How to get Numemon in Digimon Survive
