Since Gran Turismo 7 goes all out with its range of internal car parts, expect to own the fabled Nitro system later in the game. This accessory is capable of propelling cars from 50 to 200 MPH in seconds, making it arguably the best auto part you can have. As if that wasn’t unfair enough, we also found that cars powered by nitro are allowed to race in most campaign missions. How to get the legendary Nitro System.
Once you reach Collector Level 7, the Extreme category will be unlocked for you in the World Map Tuning Shop. Of course, you’ll find most of the game’s best car parts here, including the nitro system, and can fit them to almost any vehicle. The Nitro System costs a whopping 100,000 credits, so make sure the car you want to use it on isn’t in your garage anymore – or you might end up having to buy another one. After purchase, the system is then automatically added to the vehicle.
For those using the standard button layout, you can use nitro while racing by pressing the right analog stick. Once you’ve changed the controls, it’s worth checking the mapped button by clicking on the “GT” logo in the top left corner of the main menu and going to the “Controllers” tab. As shown above, each nitro-equipped car has a new HUD display in the lower-right corner that shows how much nitro is left in the tank. With use, this gauge will turn red and slowly shrink the more it is used. However, players shouldn’t be afraid to use the Nitro early in a race as it’s certainly enough to last for several minutes.
