How to get master burglar award in Sea of Thieves

With every new setpiece in Sea of Thieves likely comes a slew of Commendations, and the Sea Forts that came with Season Six are no different. There are six Sea Fortresses that you can find in every corner of the map and 10 new Commendations that can earn you Doubloons and new Prestige Titles. One commendation you will build upon is the Master Burglar Commendation.

“Discover 5 Secret Hidden Treasures on a Sea Fortress” reads the description; The commendation comes in five different tiers, with tier 2 requiring you to find 15 treasure, and so on. Earning this Commendation isn’t much of a challenge, but it may take some time due to the random loot element in Sea Forts. Basically, all you have to do is open every cabinet door and box lid you see.

While the treasury is the big pot you fight over when capturing a sea fort, pieces of furniture and containers are scattered around the area; Walk over to each cabinet, drawer, or box that you see and when prompted to open it, do so. It could be empty, but it could also contain some gold collector trinkets, mermaid gems, bags of gold, or bounty skulls. Any location where you find such treasure will be added to your Commendation count as a “Secret Hidden Treasure.”

There’s a good chance you’re doing this passively as you scour every nook and cranny for that storage room key. We only recommend that you do your quest after clearing the fort rather than during combat where phantoms can attack you from behind.
