Like all entries in the franchise, Age of Empires IV offers players many options for how to develop their civilization and how to defeat opponents. One tool used for the latter was the Battering Ram unit: a cool little tank you can drive straight to enemy homes and use to take them down. To get the Battering Ram units in Age of Empires IV, you’ll need to level up to a certain point, then have your army build siege machines in the field.
Battering Rams are not purchased from a specific building but are created from infantry units. You’ll need to get to the Feudal Age, and then get the Siege Engineering upgrade. That is unless you’re playing as the Abbasid Dynasty, as their Civilization bonus allows them to create Dark Age Bagua attacks and no Siege Technique upgrade is required. Once you’ve completed the requirements, you can simply select one of your infantry units and click the Battering Ram icon. To get a Battering Ram in Age of Empires IV costs 300 Wood and takes 80 seconds, and you can use other units to increase speed.
Battering Ram in Age of Empires IV is exactly what you’d expect: a slow-moving destroyer that can only attack buildings, and it does it really well. Make sure to go with your Battering Rams with more agile units to protect them. While increasing and boasting more armor against ranged attacksBattering Rams move quite slowly and can be easily destroyed by melee attackers.
